A Letter for the Children

My name is Lisa Schweitzer and I am a Counselor and a Play Therapist. If you are reading this letter, you, your parents or someone else who cares about you suggested that you come and meet with me. I love being a counselor because I am introduced to new people all the time!

In my playroom, I meet with young people, old people, parents, step-parents, new parents, sometimes grandparents and friends. When we meet, we talk and play and do art about the things going on in their lives.

For example, I may meet with kids who are worried about their parents’ separation or divorce, kids who may feel scared about going to sleep at night, or leaving mom and going to school, children who get teased by other kids, or feel sad or angry sometimes and just don’t know why or what to do about it.

Kids and parents usually feel much better about things after we get together. This is the best part for me!

If you have any questions, I would love to answer them. I look forward to meeting you in a few days!

Very Truly Yours,

Lisa Schweitzer self esteem,
